Hello! I know it’s been a while since I’ve written anything for Resident Anna, but I wanted to let you all know that I will ultimately be migrating Resident Anna from Substack to Ghost. The reasons for this are multiple, but mainly because Substack has shown that it as a platform is not willing to contend with what is colloquially known as the “Nazi bar problem.”
I was raised by punks, so I’ve known about this little adage for ages, but the idea goes like this. If you’re at a bar and sitting at a table, and three Nazis walk in and are allowed to stay… that’s a Nazi bar now. And if you are sitting at the table with them and do not get up and leave, that’s four Nazis at a table. And you might be like “hey Anna isn’t that a little extreme,” and the answer is yes. But we aren’t the ones bringing the extremism. The Nazis are. And there’s no reasoning or “hearing out” Nazis. They’re Nazis.
Substack thinks we should “hear out” the Nazis.
I disagree.
And while it’s taken me a lot longer than I’d like considering that things have been a bit wild for me professionally the in 2025, not counting everything else that’s going on, I’m not going to stay in a Nazi bar. I suggest you don’t either.
So what does this mean for you as a subscriber of Resident Anna? Nothing, really! The migration to Ghost.io will be handled entirely on my end, and all that will change is the email address from which you get updates. That’s all! If you’re one of our paid subscribers (thank you!) you may receive an email saying that payment has otherwise been stopped on this account, or you may receive a refund. I appreciate your willingness to support me, and Ghost.io has a similar function if you would once again like to sign up. I also understand that it has been a while since I have updated consistently and we have a recession inbound, so absolutely no worries if you decide not to re-subscribe. Things are tough out here!
I do hope to get back to writing on this blog at some point. My freelancing work has really taken off again, and while I’m so grateful for that, it also means that I have less bandwidth to yap about horror games on the internet.
Thanks for sticking around. This isn’t goodbye - talk soon!
Substack allows libtards, does that make it also a “Libtard Bar”? 😂
I don’t like Conservative Americans either but one things that to be said about them is that they allow everyone to speak. Punks, Commies, everyone. Yours views make you more of Nazi than you realise. It’s ironic😅
